FAQ | freemockup.video

Answers to common questions about freemockup.video uploads, exports, device support, browser limits, privacy, cookies, and commercial use.

What is freemockup.video?

freemockup.video is a browser-based tool for creating animated device mockup videos from screenshots or screen recordings.

Is it free?

The repository and public copy describe the tool as free to use. No paid checkout flow is present in the current Vite editor source.

Is an account required?

The current editor source does not require login to open the editor, upload media, preview a scene, or use the canvas recording export.

Are exports watermarked?

No watermarking step is present in the current source editor export path.

Which devices are supported?

The current editor source includes iPhone, Samsung-style phone, screen-only, and MacBook device options.

Can I upload screenshots or videos?

Yes. The editor upload control accepts browser-supported image and video files through an `image/*,video/*` file input.

Which file formats are supported?

The editor relies on formats supported by the user's browser for image and video playback. Common image and video formats are more reliable than unusual codecs.

Are uploads stored?

No. Based on the current service owner confirmation, screenshots and videos users place in the mockup studio are not received, transferred, stored, or used by freemockup.video.

Why can a large export fail?

The editor uses WebGL and browser media recording, which can be limited by browser support, GPU capability, memory, source video size, and scene complexity.

Which browsers are recommended?

Use a current desktop browser with WebGL and MediaRecorder support. If one browser fails, testing in a current Chromium-based browser is a practical first step.

Does the tool work on mobile?

The pages are responsive, but demanding preview and export workflows are usually more reliable on desktop or laptop hardware.

Can exported videos be used commercially?

You are responsible for having the rights to the screenshots, recordings, logos, trademarks, and other content you upload and export.

Does freemockup.video use cookies?

The static site loads Google AdSense where enabled and Vercel Web Analytics. The site also uses localStorage for the visual theme preference. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies.

Is user data sold?

The project does not contain code that sells user data. Third-party advertising providers may process data under their own policies when advertising is enabled.

How can I report a bug?

Email freemockup.video@buildwithdeni.com with your browser, device, file type, and what happened.
